Preserving Your Precious Memories

To Sleep or Not to Sleep that is the Question!? I say keep em happy and capture both! Some newborn photographers wait and wait and rock and rock to get babies asleep during Newborn photos. Some even put those sleeping babies into some pretty unnatural positions. I find that my Families and I agree on this. We want natural photos of our babies doing natural things. Of course we want them happy, but whether that means they are sleepy or awake doesn’t matter to me. Babies sleep a ton and quite frankly look like they are asleep  😴 in between yawns or toots or even cry’s. So don’t sweat it. Just keep your baby happy during our session and let me capture your connections and your beautiful babe will be sure to guide us in a unique way. Some babies enjoy being swaddled while some babies hate it! Some babies want to be held, while other babies don’t mind being alone for some photos. Some babies have certain positions they enjoy being in or certain positions they certainly don’t enjoy. Some babies need to nurse or have a bottle during the session as they might be “marathon feeding” while others might be happy to continue along as is. Some babies might have gas and toots and need diaper changes. Some babies might fill up their diapers with pee and don’t mind it while others might be upset at the feeling of a drop of pee. It is important that set expectations are not expected yet you go into your session just feeling joy about your new bundle of joy, the family unit you are going to document, those connections and baby boy/girl will deliver whatever he/she is meant to deliver. You will look back on these photos one day and cherish whatever personality shines through, and trust me you will notice early on certain traits about your little ones and I will too.
